Question Recorded videos take forever to stream and time index/length info is wrong

I've been running Sage on Ubuntu 8.10 for about a month now, and have one issue that's becoming a problem (really I should have posted this a long time ago, but I was hoping I could figure it out on my own).

When I first start sage everything works fine. After a while (sometimes half a day, sometimes a day or two), the recorded videos seem to have some sort of corruption. If I play them on the ubuntu desktop (not through sage), the time index and length info shown by the movie player is all screwed up, although the video does play. But trying to play them through my Sage HD Theater (HD200 for short, right? Sorry, still a noobie), they take a LONG time to start playing (generally 1-5 minutes of watching the spinning circle). Then, most of the time they'll start playing (sometimes it goes straight to the "do you want to delete this?" prompt like I reached the end of the video). Even when they do play, the "progress bar" that should show I'm at the start of the video generally shows I'm already at the end, but as long as I don't try to fast forward, I'm usually able to watch the recording... but having to let the commercials play through really sucks. ;-)

Stopping and restarting sage allows new recordings to be ok... until the problem resurfaces again... and recordings made while the issue is present always have the issue; it's not like bouncing sage allows me to watch the corrupted recordings any better.

I tried searching the forums, but didn't find anything, although maybe I just didn't think of the right search terms. If anyone can help me figure this out, I'd be really grateful... I'm a recent tivo convert, and my wife is starting to miss her old "reliable" tivo, but I prefer sage's many clients to one server feature (and pricing model!) much more.

Server details: Athlon 64 3500+, 2GB RAM, Ubuntu 8.10 (32 bit), Sage Linux 6.5.9, Hauppauge PVR-150 capture card (capturing off analog cable using tuner on card)

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.
