Usb-uirt Q?

I just built my HTPC thanks to the help of this forum. I need a IR device to chnage the cable box channel. I am conisdering do whta has been sugegsted here and splitting my cable so the Sage tuner does the non-digital channels via coax input and the digital channels are via the S-Video conenction I have today. Iam connected via VGA port onmy RPTV.

What is the best solution to chnage the channel on the Cable Box. It is a Sientific Atlanta HD4200.
