Black screen recordings
I have had a strange problem that has happened twice. I came home to watch my recordings to find that after some point in the day the video and audio is gone and all I have recorded is a black screen with no sound. It did record one show that day, but not the two in the evening. It seem to have started working again after I rebooted. Is this a problem with my 350 or Sage or something else? As always, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Dennis |

You're sure they actually recorded w/o video/sound? Have you tried playing them back in WMP?

I can pull Sage out of sleep. Go to the menu on my computer. I am using both output of PVR-350(sage) and 9600xt(computer) I can go into the detailed setup and disable/reenable the PVR-350 out and UI and I get television again.

This same problem happened to me again. (Black screen) I got a nice recording of Smallville without the picture.
I did burn a DVD using MyDVD that morning. Could this have somehow affected the TV-Out on the Hauppage card? I restarted Sage and everything was working well again, but I would like to narrow this down a little. When this happens I do still get the menus, just no Live-TV. |

Are you using overlay? Some apps have a problem releasing the overlay after they use it. You may want to try vmr9 or just realize that after using myDVD (if this is the problem) you'll need to retstart Sage.

I have the software decoder turned off so I don't think it's that. It only happened once and although I am not 100% sure I believe I had been playing with WinTV and even tho I quit WinTV I think it 'grabbed' the 350's encoder. So my working theory (based on pretty much nothing) is that Sage doesn't necessarily verify it has access to the encoder. peace...
