Help: Client not working
I edited this post after playing around some more. After experiencing lockups with .14 client running off .14 server, I tried reverting to .13 and then back to .14 on a clean install. Same problem though so I think the problem appears to be related to .14 server.
I can go through the menus , recordings just fine. THe problem starts when I go to playback a recording or live tv. The video just freezes up. The timer on the bottom bar continues to move but video remains frozen on frame. I can still exit out back to main menu but anything after that causes a hard lockup of the program. I would report this as a bug but unsure since no one else is reporting it. Stuart Last edited by stuartambient; 03-21-2004 at 08:36 AM. |

What MPEG decoder are you using? I tended to have the best luck with the InterVideo NonCSS decoder that comes with the Huppauge cards. Also, are there any errors logged in your sagetv_?.txt file? |

Same problem here. No combination of video settings or codecs seem to fix the problem on the client side from what I've found. At times the client works for some shows and not others but I'm not sure this has anything to do with it. It might be that I got lucky. It does hang the SageTV client and I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL and restart the client again.

Same problem here. In some, non-repeatable way it seems related to j rivers media jukebox, and furthernet running as a server on the same machine that the Sage server is on. I also noticed that zonealarm will cause a fair number of connection problems.
BTW, Jeff, what port does Sage use? Perhaps sage and j rivers and or furthernet are trying to use the same port. Interesting how I never had this problem till I installed xppro on all my machines. |

Well I may have just stumbled on the problem. Once I turned off Netware and tcp/ip version 6 everything seems to be running stable.

I have the same problem. Once it happens, I can't watch live TV neither on the server. The picture is still but SageTV is buffering. When I change the channel, I have a black screen.
Did anybody already submit a bug report for that? Thanks Ferdinand
