Import Video Library Refresh

Is there a trick to get this list to refresh? I removed all of the library paths in setup, shutdown, restart, and I still see this big list including every dvd title I have ever played.

In release .14 you can now delete the files manually just like regular recordings. Try Control-I or right arrow (however you do it in "Sage Recordings".

That should do it for you.

This is really irritating when you want to play mepgs on dvd. You still need to sleep to get it to read the drive. When you take out the dvd the entry is still in the list so you need to remember to manually delete it. To add insult to injury, it takes 5 button pushes to delete an entry.

Please say that this is not the intended design.

The entries are going away for me without doing anything. It is taking a few minutes though.

I am guessing it takes about 5 minutes as SageTV rescans the Library and video directories and wrtie the instance Uptime to Sage.properties and makes a backup.

SageTV is great, but the polling method for changes to the Library is pretty rediculous. Windows has an API for being notified as soon as any file system change occurs in a directory and it subdirectories. If they used this it would save the periodic CPU spikes from this scan and would update the list instantly.

I took out the dvd, went to work out for an hour, came back and the entry remains in the list even with a sleep toggle. If you put in a new dvd and sleep toggle, the old entry is gone and the new one(s) are there. This is cumbersome but at least usable.

I agree, sage still has trouble with basic file handling tasks. When I move content off to dvd and delete it in windows I will need to manually update sage lists. I hope this is fixed before this thing ships.

Maybe the DVD/CD drives should be scaned for MPGs when you select PLAY DVD in addition to looking for a Video format DVD...

Just a thought...

I dealing with this last night. With version 1.4, SageTV updated pretty quickly actually files in the library. v2.15 does not seem to update this list at all, and just accumulates new files. Am I missing something?

Unless I am missing something (which is entirely possible) every time I add an mp3 to my collection I have to quit and restart Sage if I want it to be added to the library.

Is that right?

peace...

You can add the delete button to the remote
so two buttons
delete then choose yes
then ok(actually three then)
how much easier do you need it

The problem is not deleting. The problem is that v2 is listing files that are no longer there.
