Scan for Media New Beta

Is there a property that can be set to enable this back to every five minutes. I do not use UNC paths and do a lot of encoding replace(automated process).... and it is taking far too long to see the new files... Instead I see the mpg with 0 length. And when they are played all I get is file not on Disk

6. Only check the video recording directories for new/changed/removed files when we do a library import scan instead of every 5 minutes (this was keeping systems from going into standby if UNC paths were used for recording directories)

Just set your library scan frequency back to 5 minutes in Detailed Setup->General and then it'll happen that often.

I understand that but I do not like to scan my Imported library unless.. I have added new files. Will this force a rescan of all my files music imported videos and recordings? I just would like the recordings to be scanned.

I usually keep the rescan as manual.

Here's my attempt with Nielms WebServer

I am going to try integrating this call into my batch files "http://localhost:8080/sage/GlobalCommand?command=UpdateMediaLibrary" which triggers a library rescan

added to my batch file :
Code:
start "C:\Documents and Settings\SageTV\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\Chrome.exe" "http://localhost:8080/sage/GlobalCommand?command=UpdateMediaLibrary"
and it seems to work ... kinda kluge like ...

opens a browser tab each time ... if there were some other way of calling it from a batch file ...

Took me a few days to figure out that the same thing was happening to my scripts

This way I can trigger a rescan right after a file has been moved ... and then use my usual code after to wait for the mpg to be detected by SageTV ...

basically I wait for Nielms XML output program to drop an XML file in the new directory

Hope this helps,

Bobby

Actually I hope this works ...

Yeah I have been updating using wget...... but I do not like the Idea that all the libraries have to be rescan in order to add 1 file.... makes no sense the previous versions handled this seamlessly.... updating music imported and recordings just to add 1 file is counter productive.

a move file command ...

a move file command would be so much simpler for us ...

must be harder to put it in as a part of the core

I like wget more ... simpler ...

doesn't open a browser window each time either
