Comskip doesn't seem to do anything??

I have sagemc 16x9 installed and I can't get comskip to work for the life of me. I am pretty new to the sage game but I have had a lot of success getting everything set up. I have enabled every setting that I can find related to comskip but none of my shows are being processed. Any ideas?

I appreciate any help you can give me.

You have to install and setup comskip or ShowAnalyzer separately. SageMC just uses the .edl files that comskip produces.

Aloha,
Mike

So, to elaborate, you have to install and setup Comskip or ShowAnalyzer. THEN you have to have them run on each file Sage records, either manually or using something to trigger it, like DirMon2, ComskipMonitor or SageJobQueue.

Comskip is available here. If you have an HD-PVR you need to donate in order to get the version that will work on h.264 files. Regardless I recommend donating, it's a great program and Erik gives it away for free.

Comskip monitor is available in the downloads section. It's probably the easiest way to get comskip working. The install file installs comskip, comskip monitor, and opens an html to help walk you through setup. There's a newer version around here that allows for multiple instances for multi-core systems too.

The downside to comskip monitor that it's not as flexible as some of the other options. The included version of comskip is older but you can upgrade that from the web site above after installing the package.

The package works very well and is simple to set up and run. I'm not familiar with the other options so I'll let others chime in there, though a search of the forum will probably turn up all the info you need.

I think dirmon2 is a little better than coMskip monitor but that is my opinion, but I use and recomend babgvant's toolbox is the one I use and prefer but takes a little more setup than the other two
