My Videos problem

I don't know if this is a problem with the beta necessarily, but I need help nonetheless.

I'm running beta 6.5.16 on WHS with an HD200 as my only client.

The folder where all my video content is stored has two folders, TV Shows and Movies. I've configured the Media Directory to look at the video folder with the two subdirectories (TV Shows and Movies) as the "Video" folder. Ideally, when I go to My Videos, I should have two choices, TV Shows and Movies.

I was using Media Scraper to get data for the TV shows. Now though, for some reason the newly scraped shows are showing up in the My Videos section alongside the TV Shows and Movies folders. I've tried to rescan my library, I've tried to get rid of and readd my video folder, but nothing works to get rid of the file.

I also have BMT installed as a plugin. Are all my metadata programs conflicting?

Yes. The problem is that the errant shows that are appearing should be under the subdirectory for TV Shows.

Okay, this is driving me crazy now.

I have two directories for videos chosen. One with TV and one with Movies. Instead of doing the entire "Videos" folder that WHS sets up, I went with the sub directories for each. It doesn't matter if I do localhost, the UNC or the "D:\", nothing shows up in my Videos section. The only thing that does is a folder that isn't supposed to be showing because I stopped sharing that folder.

Okay, now I'm going crazy.

Uninstalled 6.5.16

Deleted SageTV folder from C:/Program Files/

Installed 6.5.9 (even went as far as to redownload it from sagetv.com)

Ran setup

Imported Media Directory D:/shares/Videos (has over 800GB of videos in it)

NOTHING shows up when I go to "My Videos"

Installed SageMC (only because I can't stand standard UI)

HELP!!!

Seriously, I have no idea what is going on here. The other two directories that have the music and pictures in it are showing up fine with all my media in there. Videos is empty.

How many times have I said I'm going crazy?

So, I probably failed to mention that I'm using an HD200. Anyway, I figure I'll just rock it in standalone mode. So I go there, go to file systems, browse the network, drill down to the folder, select the file and I get ERROR (-2): Files selected for playback are no longer on disk.

They're right there!

Anyway, I originally posted this in the Beta forum, it got moved to the SageMC forum, but I'm almost positive it isn't a SageMC problem anymore. Can a mod move me to the Software forum?

Something reset the "Guest" account on my WHS and for some reason, even though I must have looked at it a dozen times, I didn't notice.

I'll shut up now. Dexter Season 3 here I come!

So this problem reared its ugly head again. I had a great setup going with no problems, then all of the sudden I turn on my HD-200 yesterday and instead of the three folder in "Videos" (TV, Movies, Sage TV - the recorded shows folder), I got Movies (and when you opened it, only the movies from A-P show up) and all of the shows in my Sage TV recorded folder individually listed.

Why would Sage do that? I installed the MyMovies Add-in (I'm using WHS as my sage server) and this broke right after, but I don't see how MyMovies would impact the folder view.

I'm not doing a good job of explaining this. I eventually just wiped Sage and reinstalled it. I don't want to have to do this again though. My wife may crucify me.

I'm pretty sure your problem is MyMovies. As you said, when you installed MyMovies it broke everything. The last time I played with my movies, I had to reinstall WHS. I now stay away.

Yeah, I'm not going to even attempt to use it anymore. The integration with Sage wasn't all that impressive anyway.

Has anybody else experienced bugs with MyMovies on the WHS and Sage?

I am experiencing the same problem. I do not have WHS but do have a NAS where videos reside. I have 2 folders listed in my media but the folders do not appear in 'folder view'. I see all the videos listed together.

Only folders that exist UNDER your import path will show up in the library.

Example:
V:\Media\Movies
V:\Media\TV

If you add both V:\Media\Movies and V:\Media\TV to sage as import paths, then all items in both will list together at the root level of the Videos section of sage.

If, instead, you set V:\Media as your import folder, then the root of the library will show the two folders (Movies and TV).

Advanced:
V:\Media\Movies
V:\Media\TV
W:\More_Media\Movies

If you also add W:\More_Media as an import path, the files in W:\More_Media\Movies and V:\Media\Movies will both be listed together in the Movies folder under the root of the library in sage.

I'm seeing a similar problem with videos showing up under the default My Videos page. I'm not sure it is related -- mine happens after I import metadata for the video.

- latest sageMC/BMT installed (also Sage Movie Wall, but I see the same in the default sagemc My Videos screen). All software including SageTV itself freshly installed in the past few days
- HD200 extender, but I see the same under the windows client
- Filesystem view, no filter in My Videos
- if I pull down metadata either from BMT or from within SMW for a video, after a rescan the video in question shows up along my directories in the top level My Video screen

I have found that if I remove my whole video directory completely under the sageTV detailed config -> General -> Media Center Import Directories, then add it back, everything is in the right place and still has the metadata.

Under the default STV, the videos are always in the right place.

Your particular problem has to do with BMT rewriting the Title and how SageMC generates the file system view. The default STV generates teh file system view differently.

Thanks for the pointers. I missed those threads in my search (only searched the SageMC subforum).
