You don't download it; see the sticky Studio Information Resources in this forum.

Do you have a SageTV license? If not, please note that the first paragraph of the topic I pointed you to says "this application is now publicly available to all registered SageTV users". There is also a link to the Studio manual in that topic.

If you have a license, then check the Customize command's keystroke in Detailed Setup -> Commands and then explain what type of SageTV client you are using.

A while back I had a very perplexing problem where Studio would not open no matter what I did. After much hair pulling and hand wringing, I realized that my keyboard had an F-Lock key that locks out the function keys. I had accidentally activated the F-Lock without realizing it. Just something to check.

Aloha,
Mike

Ok
I agree all your suggestions.

It seems that the Windows version goes fine, but I use de Debian distribution for linux so the conditions and the use of the SO/machine resources is very diferent.
But now I know that the windows package contains the studio.

Nop, the keyboard is not the problem. Tested.

Uhmm... I'm wondering why this function of the application do not have a button to lunch it.

UHHHHMMMMMMM!!!!
The debian setup file has only 4.8 Mg and the Windows Setup has 52 Mg.
I think that the linux client is really a miniclient... and does not have the Studio.

Can any body tell me the *.jar files that has in the sagetv/client/ directory?
I have:
gluegen-rt.jar
jogl.jar
MiniClient.jar

Tx

CONFIRMED
ADVERTISEMENT:

The SageTV Placeshifter for Linux - Debian Package Installer
http://www.sagetv.com/postDL.php?tmp...6.5.9_i386.deb
http://download.sage.tv/linuxbeta/sa....5.17_i386.deb
http://download.sage.tv/linuxbeta/sa....5.18_i386.deb

is a MiniClient and does not have the Studio java clases that the Windows Placeshifter contains in Sage.jar (you can see the StudioFrame**.class files inside with winzip).

I am very disappointed because I have the purpose of develop and update some of the old extensions for SageTV and some skins.

I will ask to SageTV about plans for a complete client in this platform.
They must advise this "detail" in the product brochure
http://www.sagetv.com/linuxOEMeditio...sed::confused:

Tx to all.

The Linux client is a placeshifter client & that doesn't open its own Studio window on any platform. When you try to open studio from any type of remote client (placeshifter or extender), it always opens Studio on the server.

But, you could check the Linux FAQs:

How do I start Studio while using the Linux version of SageTV?

Wow!
I got it!

Thank you, Andy, you are right.

Do you can update the pdf manual with a Note for Linux users for dummy users like me?

Tx again.
