HD200: Channel Scan

This might seem like a stupid question. But since I have always done channel scans at the console of my Sage box. Now that box is a headless server. I was just wondering if that can be done from an HD200. And must I load the default STV before doing this?

Two tuners (identical cards). Does one scan work for both or must I re-scan on tuner 2?

Sure, I do it all the time.

I think unless you setup a different lineup for each, you shouldn't have to.

You have to set up the tuners separately, but once you have scanned for the first, that lineup will show up as an option whe you set up the second. So set up 2x, but scan once.

What type of tuner is it -- is it a digital tuner for OTA ATSC or cable QAM? If it is OTA you might be able to get away w/o a second scan if you reuse the same lineup; if it is cable, you have to scan on both.

If it isn't a digital tuner, then scanning is always optional.
