Command Line Control

Forgive me if this is obvious, but can the hd theater be controlled via telnet?
I see i can connect to a terminal. Or is http an option.
From my understanding the existing web apps require the sagetv software to run, and therefore would not work in stand alone mode. Can someone shed some light on this or point me in a direction.

TIA

Tim

I would suggest taking a look here:

That should point you in the right direction.

you can of course telnet to it's ip address login as root (no password), and type reboot.

i would be interested if anyone works out how to upgrade the firmware via telnet, cos i can't use IR in my setup..

I asked sage, but i got a cryptic "it can be done, but we're not telling you how" type answer.

i do know that the instructions for the HD100 don't work.

Thanks guys but i was actually wanting to control the unit not reboot it.
I would like to send play - pause send url to play etc via telnet or http.

I know can be done using the Niels webserver.. but that requires the sage software doesn't it?

thanks

Any luck with this? Nielm's does require running on the server from what i understand. I can control a SageTV device via commands to Nielm's server that specify the HD200 or Hd100 to run on.

Now, I'm stuck in a hotel, I dragged a HD200 and hard drive with some rips and I forgot my remote. I assume I can either go get a universal remote or I'm pretty much done and stuck watching hotel fodder. Anyone figure this out?
