Make sure you have the latest java installed on the client. If this is the first time for client and you just enabled "server" on your Sage TV server make sure you reboot your Sage server machine. (Not just restart Sage.)

Any type of firewall like Zone Alarm or Windows XP firewall running? The error seems to occur at port 1677 from your log.

Also, be sure there isn't another version of java installed -- when I updated my java long ago, it didn't remove the previous version on its own & that caused problems.

Edit: In fact, it still doesn't remove the previous version when upgrading from v1.4.2_03 to v1.4.2_04. The 03 upgrade tab didn't find an update to install, but going to the Sun site resulted in a new installation of 04 in addition to 03.

Already completely removed all other versions of java off my mahcine.

As for zone alarm, why would the beta 13 version work. I'm watching it right now.

Are you sure you are running server 14? I tried client 13 with server 14 when they were first released & not everything in the client worked correctly.

Well how do I tell. I think I am running server 14 because the menu is overlayed on teh video picture all the time.

One question about server 14. If you open it from the system tray, how do you get it to release control so the client can control the tuner again. If I close it and re-open, the tuner is on and the client can no longer tune the channel.

It is in teh client or the server that is causing my java error. I re-installed client 14 and now the error is on a different port. It seems that port rotates.

That's 14, then, in since 13 didn't overlay the menus on the video. But, you can tell by going to Setup -> System Information.

The client should be able to change the channel once the server is sleeping, I believe. If you only have 1 tuner & both the client & server are watching live tv, I don't believe either one can change the channel, since that would conflict with what the other PC is watching live. You could have a constant battle between users of the server & client regarding which channel to switch to.

One more guess & then I'm out of ideas... have you tried deleting the properties file for the client & then restarting it? How about for the server, if resetting the client doesn't do it?
