Using HD200 while on vacation

I currently have SageTV and two HD100 extenders. I love them.

Shortly I am going to go on vacation and would love to bring some of my media content. I would like to bring an extender and an external USB HD with media.

It is my understanding that the HD100 will not work this way (since it always needs to be connected to the SageTV server to run).

But from reading the forums, it appears the HD200 can run this way. (run in stand-alone/not connected to the SageTV server or network. It can also connect to a USB drive and play stored media.)

Can the HD200 run this way? Has anyone tried this?

Thanks in advance,
Chiledog

Yes it can go on the road with you. Bring along your media on a USB drive and play it back on the HD200 connected to a TV.

You can also Placeshift from your SageTV HTPC server (if you had one) to the HD200 over the internet - a related article on taking the HD200 on the road can be found here

Brent,

Thanks, that's what I was hoping.

BTW, I will not have a network connection, so I can't use place shifter.
