Maxtor 1tb Central Axis Configuration problem

Hello, I'm rather new to SageTV, so forgive my newbe question, but I'm having trouble configuring my HD200 to recognize a new Maxtor 1tb NAS drive. I keep getting "Authentication Failure" when I try to Browse the drive from the Folders icon on the HD200. I have two other Western Digital WorldBook NAS drives (500gb and a 2tb) and I can see/access the movies I have on them without any problems. It's just this particular drive that's giving me all the problems. Interestingly, I can see the drive when accessing it from another PC on the network and the most current version of SageTV Media Center can also see and play movies I've copied over to the Maxtor NAS.

Has anyone come across this problem?

Here are some configuration details:

Maxtor Central Axis NAS:
User Account "Sage" has a three character lower case password
The user account is granted "All rights" to the directory containing the DVD files
The workgroup name that all NAS drives are located on is "MSHOME"
The directory on the NAS drive is: \\Worldbook3\public\dvd\
I can access the Public directories from any computer on the network without entering a user id or password. Including SageTV MC version 6.5. See image below.

HD200:
I'm running the most recent Beta software on each of our HD200s.
Upon selecting the Maxtor drive in the folder browser, I'm asked for a User ID and Password. I enter the ID/Password noting the upper/lower case characters. I then receive an error message asking if I wish to 1) enter a password 2) enter a new user ID and Password or 3) No

After selecting each of the options multiple times and re-entering the information, I ultimately select option "3) No." The password request screen goes away and an "Invalid Directory" statement pops up.

--------------------

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I'm kindof wishing I had stayed with the Western Digital NAS drives.

Regards,

Todd

Just a short update:

I eventually developed a work around the problem of the HD200 not seeing the Maxtor Central Axis NAS drive by selecting one of my SageTV MC Servers which can see the drive. The only problem is that I've lost the stand alone functionality I was looking for.

So, if anyone has any suggestions or the developers read this, please add it to the bug list for the firmware on the HD200, since in my opinion it's not the Maxtor's fault.

Thanks,

Just curious does anyone else use the Maxtor 1tb Central Axis NAS drive? What have your results been like? I'm still having the same problem as before, even with the new beta software installed featuring the ability to set a specific folder option.

Thanks,

Todd

Yep, but it hasn't helped and I've decided to live with the problem for the time being. I just don't have the time right now to deal with the issue and quite frankly I'm just irritated with the whole thing.

Hi Todd,

just the same with me. Network shares on my PC and MacBook work fine, but when trying to access my NAS (QNAP Turbostation 101) exactly the same behaviour. The HD 200 asks for login and password, but no user installed on the NAS works (even not GUEST account with full (!) access rights) ...
