ATSC Tuner Choice In Sage - Can I Merit Based On Signal Strength?
Just curious - I have several tuners. Will Sage default to the tuner with the best signal strength to record a show?
Can I influence that at all in the properties file? Can I merit based on tuner strength? Would Sage default away from a tuner that did not have a signal, if, say, an antenna cable came loose and other tuners for that channel were open? Any help in this matter would be appreciated. thanks.

There's no provision for dynamically adjusting merits based on instantaneous signal strength. However you're free to take typical signal strength into account when assigning merits manually.

Are you talking the standard merit setting? Or is there another merit for signal strength?

standard. there is nothing that takes signal strength into account.

It's good they don't, because the signal strength indications can't be compared from one model or brand of tuner to another. My HDHR gives an honest signal strength while my Hauppauge tuners, on the same signal, and with the same marginal reception, show 100% or close to it.
