Question Supported 5ghz 802.11n USB adapters?

Eventually I'm going to be running my extenders hard-wired. However, until I get around to pulling cable everywhere that I need to I was hoping that I could get by with 802.11n

So, I ordered a Ruckus 7811 (I picked this since with beamforming it kicked the ass of every other 802.11n AP out there).

However I've run into a bit of a snag. The Ruckus 7811 only supports the 5ghz band and the ENUWI-N only supports the 2.4Ghz band, so the two won't talk.

Are there any USB adapters that are compatible with the HD200 that support 5ghz 802.11n?

Here is a thread that identifies a potential wireless N USB adpapter, the D-Link DWA-160. http://forums.sagetv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43437

The only downside at this time is lack of testing for the DWA-160. There are other alternatives that operate in the 5Ghz range that would work as well called ethernet bridges. The D-Link DAP-1522 is one such device and allows for multiple devices to be connected to it via ethernet cable, and connects to the router wirelessly. Linksys makes two similar devices as well, the WET610N and the WGA600N. Netgear and Belkin also make a version. I use a D-Link DWL-G730AP, which is 802.11G only, on occasion to connect my HD200 wirelessly. It is fairly stutter-free when watching HD content.

If you have coax in the rooms, you might want to consider going with a MoCA (ethernet over coax) solution. It's pretty fast and reliable. If you search for "MoCA" on the forums you can see that people have had generally favorable experiences.

Another alternative would be to get an ethernet-wireless n bridge.

Just an FYI, I bought the D-Link DWA-160 for my HD200 and it works great, just a few gotchas:

1) It only seems to work on 5ghz and didn't see any of my 2.4 ghz points. Not a huge deal, but whatever. This is prolly something Sage can fix someday.

2) There are two models, Rev. A and Rev. B, and only Rev. B works in the HD200. I ordered one off Amazon and I got a Rev. A, and then I went to Office Max and they acutally had a mix of Rev. A and Rev. B. So make sure you buy it in a store and check the box.

Anyone ever figure out how to get this to work with 2.4 on the Sage HD200?

The DWA-160 Rev B sees 2.4 ghz networks when connected to any one of my PCs but only sees 5 ghz networks when connected to my HD200. I don't have any 5ghz access points

Anyone want to trade it for an Encore wireless adapter?
