2nd SPDIF caused problems

I have two HD-PVRs connected to STBs... one used Component with analog audio, the other Component+SPDIF. Everything was fine.

When I attached a Toslink to the first one, removed & re-added as Component+SPDIF both HD-PVRs stopped working... they weren't returning video/audiio during the setup.

I had to go back to both as Component with analog now!

Any ideas??

AFAIK you can only use one type audio connection per PC system. I think the HD-PVR settings are global and not per device. If you take a single HD-PVR and connect both analog and spdif the audio will not work either. If both were connected to SPDIF or Analog you probably wouldn't have the issue. This is just a guess and my part but many of hauppague drivers have difficulty supporting multiple devices. (Their IR software being one of them.) Or it could be your STB doesn't support using both outputs.
