Folder / Poster / Fanart questions

I think I'm on the latest everything - Sage 6.6.2.218, SageMC 6.3.9b_17, Phoenix 1.44. Getting some strange behavior with poster art (in default video library) that I'm trying to understand.

Using File System view, I have Fanart Options item "Fanart Posters in Group Views" set to Enabled.

When I first enter the Videos menu (or any subsequent sub-folder within the Videos section), I see folder icons for each of my sub-categories with a small version of one of the posters from within that folder, and then text directly underneath that showing how many items are in the folder. So for example, I'll see an image of a folder, and on that folder I'll see a small picture of a movie poster and the text "17 items." As soon as I highlight that folder though, the aforementioned folder image is replaced by a larger version of just the poster, with no folder image and no "x items" text. It will then stick with the large poster image until I leave that menu and come back, at which point it's back to the "x items" view.

1. Why is it doing this? (I'd rather have it permanently show the large poster, and never the x items text.)

(Side note: When I'm not using central Fanart, but using the "old" method of putting a folder.jpg within the actual dvd folder, it behaves the way I want it to - just showing a static image of the poster as the folder. In fact, if I have BOTH a folder.jpg and a central Fanart folder simulateously, it actually never shows the "x items" folder, instead it will start out showing the folder.jpg full size and then when the folder is highlighted it will still switch to the Fanart poster image.)

2. On a somewhat related note, does anyone know how it chooses which movie's poster to show on grouped folders? I have 371 dvds in my "DVDs" folder, and no matter what order I import the various import folders in, it always chooses to show the same exact dvd's poster as my folder image - it's not the first alphabetically or by location or in any other way special that I can figure. Unfortunately, for a few of my sub-folders, it's choosing a video that doesn't have any Fanart at all, so I get the generic default image. I'd loev to know how to force it to use a certain dvd (or better yet, a way to just tell it what image to use for each sub-folder, but I know that's been asked for many many times and I don't think it's ever been implemented.)

Thanks!

Hmm, no ideas? Is no one else seeing this behavior?
