Is it possible to have digital audo (SPDIF) and analog audio a the same time?
I just upgraded my SageTV computer to Windows 7.
My motherboard (ASUS M2NVP-VM) has both analog audio and optical and coax digital audio out. In Win XP I could have the audio coming from both analog and digital jacks at the same time. The analog signal goes to my TV, and the digital signal goes to my stereo receiver. I like to have the analog signal to the TV for regular TV watching and I only turn on the receiver for movies, After I installed Win 7, I get the choice of either analog audio or digital (SPDIF). They each work by themsekves, but the options in the soundmax control panel are now mutually exlusive. I can't select both at the same time. Is this a Windows 7 problem, or just a problem with the soundmax driver for my MB? If I buy a sound-card will it fix my problem? Can someone recommend a cheap sound-card that can do this under Win 7? I am just about ready top re-install XP to get my audio working he way that it used to work. Thanks, David |
