Playing back HD-PVRed content via Placeshifter

What is the current status of playing back TV shows that are recorded via an HD-PVR? I know that at one time people could get 720p shows to play but not 1080i. Is that still the case? Is this likely to ever be fixed or should I be locking my STBs at 720p?

720p is still required. I have no idea about a possible 1080i fix.

Anyone actually have 720p working with their placeshifter? Any tricks we have to do?

Just have 720p content, and choose to watch it via the placeshifter. Nothing complicated to set up. It certainly won't be 720p on playback though... in most cases, it'll be something less than SD. That's a matter of bandwidth. If you are having problems, then it is either simply too little bandwidth available, or not enough processor power on the server to do the transcoding.
