WPA Encryption
Hey,
I am running an HD200 wirelessly. My picture was constantly studdering. My router was set to broadcast Personal WPA/WPA2 TKIP. I set the router to broadcast Personal WPA AES. ...and the studdering went away. Does anyone know if HD200 have problems with encryption, or is it my router's ability to broadcast dual encryption protocol. |

It may be simpler than that. It may be that you are just on the edge of 'working wireless', and any extra bandwidth use (through higher encryption standards). Higher level encryption also increases lag, in most cases, thereby beinging you closer to the 'limit'. HD over wireless is already pretty finicky, so any extra quirks/complications will put you into buffer underflows (studdering).

And, since WPA(2)-AES is more secure than WPA-TKIP, you should really be using it unless compatibility reasons prevent you from moving to AES. Last edited by reggie14; 01-11-2010 at 09:19 PM. |

Is there a way to specify WPA2 instead of WPA? PS. I'm using the USB adapter from Sage.com. all my other wireless devices work OK with the WPA2 setting (printer and laptop). My router is a Linksys (Cisco) E1000. Hope you can help. DJ Connected it via wire, then removed wire, put back the wifi adapter, rebooted extender, went to wifi setup. Re-entered the passcode (can I get it to remember it for me?) and it connected. It's working OK now, but has difficulty with the signal where it I want it to be located (where it usedto be). Looks like I need ot buy a range extender for my router. Last edited by DocDJ; 09-15-2010 at 11:54 AM. Reason: got it working |
