Recording DVD's

I use S-Video from the STB into the PVR-350 source input port, then a RCA to mini jack into the sound input jack. Picture is good but sound has a loud hiss. I have played around with the audio settings but there are so many combinations I thought someone may have a sweet spot for sound input settings on the Hauppauge from a DVD player. Thing is, I was using a cheapie Winfast TV2000 Deluxe for my capture card before the Hauppauge and sound was perfect. Picture quality wasn't there with the 350 but there was no background noise with the audio while capturing a DVD movie. If anyone does this successfully I'd be interested to hear what your audio tab settings are in Sage Recorder.

this might sound stupid, but did you try out different or better rca cables?
