all gone to heck
So last week I had a situation wheremy tuners all stopped changing channels. I have 3 STB tuners attached to a usb uirt and also I have a HDHomeRun. Two of my tuners connect to a hauppauge PVR 500 and one connects to a HD PVR.
I removed the sources and re-added them, telling them to use the same .ir files they have always used. but only the STB that attaches to the main portion of the usb uirt changes channels. I renamed the .ir files but that didn't work either. I pulled off one fo the other zones IR eyes and watched, no blinking light. So the problem is not that it is doing something wrong but rather it is that noting is coming out of the eyes on zones 1 and 3 (zone 3 works but that is the big part where everything plugs into). on a seperate note, the HDHRs stopped working now too. They work with the HDHR software but Sage has stopped sending them commands. I have no idea what is going on now. I have deleted the sage.properties file and let it re-create itself, then reconfiged it but that didn't help at all. I installed the latest USB UIRT drivers, no help. What am I missing? Did the usbuirt just go to heck? should I buy a second one, and potentially waste $50? So here I am wth a total of 5 tuners and I cna only get 1 to work. i am thinking of formatting the server and building it from scratch, which would take about 3 days of work. Alternately I could just remove Sagetv and re-install it.. another pain. Any suggestions? |

I might be able to help with the HDHR, if you give me details of how it is hooked up. (Own NIC, etc.) Can't help with the rest.

HDHr is pretty basic setup...it is on hte same network as everything else, it is a 1 gig network. It had also been working until this whole debacle. It shows up as a tuner in sagetv. When you select it and tell it to scan channels it finds the 18 channels it is suposed to quickly. Then when you test a channel it simply never turns on the little tuner light on the hdhr and you never get any signal strength from it. You never get a picture, it just says no signal.
As I said earlier, it works perfectly when using the programs from the HDHR direcory (setup, etc). I am pretty sure I am gonna delete the whole sagetv directory so we will see what happens after a fresh install. Any advice for gong about a fresh install? Other than saving the wiz.bin? |

How old is your HDHR? The HDHR might be plagued with the power adapter problem. Both of my HDHRs had bad power adapters. Contact SiliconDust for new power adapters if you haven't already done it.
As for the USB-UIRT, it is probably faulty hardware. I think mine went haywired too. I no longer use IR blasters, I switched to firewire channel changing.
