MPEG files with LPCM audio

Unfortunately I have a bunch of these files (home movies, default setting). Video play fine in the HD200, no audio though. Anything I can do other than convert all my files to a different audio (literally hundreds of files)

I'm having the same problem. Add to this .3gp video files from mobile phone - no audio for those as well. This should be fixed with firmware update.

This won't be very helpful but I can confirm that I get audio with my .AVI home videos (MJPEG with PCM) and Blu-ray rips with LPCM tracks so it seems like it should work with MPEG. What physical audio output are you using and what are your audio settings on the HD200?

I'm using RCA audio cables for sound and S-Video cable for picture. Other files play audio just fine, so it's not the configuration problem. My files with LPCM are in .MPG container, not .AVI.

Also, I just found out yesterday, HD200 doesn't play at all .MP4 (H264) video files transcoded to be used on iPhone: no video and no sound.

My mpg files are the same, lpcm audio. I have older files that have mp2 audio, those play fine. I'm using RCA audio out, haven't tried HDMI or SPDIF

I finally said the hell with it, and converted all my mpg files to DIVX (actually used Beyondtv since it let me do it in batches). Three computers, running about 20hrs each, and I now have my entire collection in hi rez Divx (takes about a third of the space).

Honestly, as nice as this unit is, for the price you can get an Acer Aspire Revo 1600, which doesn't have the database and playback limitations. (It is a computer, but otherwise has the same noise and heat). Now if I could just figure out how to have the HD2000 store my database on the USb hard drive so I'm not limited by 15,000 files (my music collection is more than that alone, let alone pictures and videos)

The HD200 really shines when connected to the SageTV server software - no database limitations and you can watch LiveTV, access recordings on the server, have a fancier UI, etc. That being said you should have submitted a bug report for your MPEG audio problems - they probably could have provided a fix pretty quickly.

I actually did not think of that, since it was an ongoing problem (based on the forums). Also, wasn't sure who handles that, Sage or Hauppauge. I'll try it now.

I'm pretty sure that Hauppauge has nothing to do with the Sage HD200 extenders.

Well it is their hardware, and as such they may keep all the drivers proprietary. I'm not sure where the firmware control ends, if all the decoding is the software side then yes, Sage would handle it. I sent them an email, we'll see what they say.

Where did you hear that? I have never heard anything about Hauppauge having anything to do with the HD200 (hardware or firmware).

Hauppauge has nothing to do with the HD200.

Oh, when I got mine, I didn't get the remote right away and was told any Hauppauge remote would work with it (I had a couple and they did), so I just assumed the hardware was made by Hauppauge. My mistake.
