Yes indeed - there are specific Exit calls that happen if there is no update for AnyDVD.

Well, it kinda bit me

My PC sleeps when I'm not using it, so when I woke it up tonight, I think the task ran because my PC randomly rebooted while I was in the middle of stuff.

I think the prompt that I have in there won't work when it is running as a different user.

I guess the moral of the story is that the scheduled task works best when it runs as the normal user that is logged into the PC.

I have all my scheduled tasks run under a user named TASKS
You need to make sure you add a password to that user account.
Then when you setup a task, and tell it to run under another account it will ask you for the password, and it will work.. If you setup the account without a password, the task will not run...

There is an option in the task that states to run where the user is logged in or not.. Make sure you check that option...

worked fine!

Worked fine for me last night. Had it set at 3:50 and it did it's thing and rebooted. I was actually up to get a drink of water when it happened. Checked the box and it had the new version. I added a script to delete the icon it always puts on my desktop and I'm good. Great job!

Worked fine here too..
After it rebooted, I took a look and the ANYDVD window was on the screen..
So I just had to "X" it out to close the window...

For windows 7 just schedule this command. I've not tested yet but it should work. I run it nightly. If it's there it will delete. easy enough.

del "C:\Users\Public\Desktop\AnyDVD.lnk"

It's a false positive......
Turn off AVG, download the file, then turn AVG back on..

Worked for me last night. My command to delete the shortcut did not. I just cut put that line in a batch file and called that and it worked just fine.

That would be a nice option. Since most of us run it in the tray anyways. Why is it needed?
