And that's not a 1080i recording from the HD-PVR, right?

I had locked my STB to output 720p at one time, but I guess I should double check it. However, I know I have tried to stream HDHR recordings as well.
EDIT - looking at that output again, it is for a NCIS recording which is being recorded with the HDHR and not the HD-PVR. To those that have gotten it "working" - what are your VLC settings? Is it all stock? Have you gone into the VLC GUI and changed any settings? I've tried both, but currently have reset all the default settings in VLC. I'd love to hear what others are doing.

sic0048,
What version of vlc are you using. The best one and I think the only one to use is 1.0.0. I was at one time using a higher version and it stopped working so I downgraded back to 1.0.0. I also have a whs server. by the way, thanks for the instructions for the IR blaster for the hdpvr. When I was looking at your command line, I saw the format of the file you are playing is different than mine. Mine is: "\\WHSServer\SageTV\Psych-ChivalryIsNotDeadButSomeoneIs-1971057-0.ts" where WHSServer is the name of my whs server. I put a lot of thought into that name. I also have my SageTV folder in the pool so maybe that is why yours is different. Also, I have vlc installed on the whs server. I would enter the command line to start the streaming from that server. I would than use my laptop with vlc to play. Hope this helps. Same as Mythikal above: I have also used the stock settings and they work. I have also not changed anything in the GUI. Creating a recording conflict ought to do it

Actually, I've done that and they don't appear there. Even the UI has a dedicated section for that.

OK, I partially take that back. The conflicts don't show up before, but missed recordings do show up in the system messages.

There was a problem where all the system messages were received on launching the application, and added to the database. Now I fixed that, but in order to remove the old ones from your database, you will either have to use the option to delete them from the database and SageTV server, or to wipe the taSageTV database...
Version 1.19 - Fix: failure to connect would prevent the drop down list from showing. - Fix: the TV Guide was broken. - Fix: all the system messages were sent/appended on start up. - Helped the memory management with some "final"...

I am running 1.0.0 at "stock" configuration.
I don't have the Sage drives in the WHS drive pool, so I am sure that is why the file structure is different. I've done a little more troubleshooting that this is what I have found. Up to this point, I've been connecting to the Sage server via the 3g network and a DNS service. This has been fine for connecting and seeing recordings, etc. and doing it this way has prevented me from having two sets of servers/extenders (one for 3g and one for home). I decided to try streaming under the home network connection and this setup does work. The picture is terrible and the sound is slightly out of sync, but at least it does play and the sound is fine. So that made me think that the setup is correct and should work under 3g - except slower. So I switched back to my 3g setup and tried again. What I think is happening is some sort of time out issue. When I start "streaming" a video, I can pull up my Sage/VLC server and see that a VLC process does start and hits the same CPU usage as when I stream a video over LAN. This makes me think that VLC is really working and starting to transcribe the video. However, on the phone, after about 1 minute of a "Loading Video" message and spinning circle, I get a "Error - File cannot be displayed or played" message. So I think there is a problem with a timing issue when trying to send the file out over the internet. I have a upload speed of about 1000 kbps on my home network and about 950-1150 download speed on the wireless network. Latency on the wireless network is about 329ms if that makes a difference. So any thoughts on how to tweak things to make it work over the wireless network? Thanks,

You're right - a recording conflict is not a system message. I was getting my icons confused. Pulling the aerial input whilst its recording would prompt though I'm sure

I've also read in a forum that you cannot stream video like this on Froyo 2.2 unless you have the wireless turned on. You don't have to be connected to a network - you can still use 3G. But you must have the wireless antenna on for it to work.
I haven't been able to confirm if this the root of my problem or not.

I did a rough estimate of counting and when I hit the stream button. The streaming media player immediately is launches but it takes approximately 10 seconds before the show plays on my HTC Evo. Could there be extra time added for the dns service? Just an idea. Quote:
