I don't mind the UI changes.

I also been playing around with controlling the stream through VLC Remote but having no luck whatsoever. I do not think it is possible on what I have read to fast forward or rewind a stream. Still messing around but not hopeful.

I also like the idea of having multiple streaming options. Are you thinking of having a dropdown on the server settings to select an option? Would we be able to add our own?

Thanks for everything again.

Oh well, hopefully Google didn't buy that streaming media company for nothing and they'll include a better option in there next Android OS release, something like Apple's HTTP live streaming...

Yes, that's how I would do it.

Of course, they would be editable in the sage.properties like the single profile is currently.

Version 1.55

- Updated the UI to a blue theme.

This is basically to match the look an feel of tiSageTV, in particular the Home, Media Center and Recordings screen. I renamed System messages to Information and Recorded shows to TV shows. I tried to replace the icons in the various option menus, but the result seemed odd, so I left it as is.

- Fix: Album details did not show the cover art.

I have also updated the screenshots on the wiki.

Good! That should make the transition smoother, should someone go from taSageTV to tiSAgeTV, or the other way around. Then again, there's only like 10% of the screens that have a common look, the rest becoming device specific.

If someone wants to test Apple's HTTP live streaming with the Android app VPlayer, have the mobile web interface 2.0 installed, find one MediaFileID (123456), your server's IP, your jetty's info and substitute them into:

http://sage:frey@myip.com:8080/strea...aFileId=123456

Oh well, I guess Jason would have to create the .m3u8 file or something...

trial version streaming

Does streaming work on trial version? I set up streaming as the wiki says and when I try to connect it says

Cannot play video
Unable to connect to server.

Is there any configuration of vlc? Of do you just install it?

If you go to the about page, you can see the streaming URL. So you could type it in VLC (open network flux) on any pc to make sure. You can also enable the debugging and check/attach the SageTV\SageTV\sagetv_0.txt log file.

As mentioned on the web site, the version number is important... The path is defined in the sage.properties file, so make sure it matches your installation, especially on vista.win7 with the virtual store and such.

As a little "heads up", I am looking into implementing the proper SageTV 7 plugin support in SageTCPServer, which does break the backward compatibility with SageTV 6... So if you are still running SageTV 6, I would suggest that you grab the latest version of SageTCPServer and keep a backup preciously somewhere...

While TaSageTV itself might not initially require the latest version of SageTCPServer (and thus SageTV 7), they do tend to go hand-in-hand...

Fonceur - I was going to buy this until I noticed that you tie it to the device ID? What's your policy on moving it to new devices? I ask because in the last 5 months I've gone through 5 different Android phones due to warranty replacements, and my last new-every-two is coming up in a few months.

I'm not willing to pay money for software that is tied to one piece of hardware that is easily lost, fragile, and replaced frequently.

We will issue you a new key and just black list the old ID in future releases. A few users already did it. Initially we were using the Phone number, but it's not valid on tablets and on actual phone it might not match its real number, so was pretty useless.

Actually, I'd like to push the minimum version requirement of TaSageTV to SageTV 7 now... The latest versions of SageTCPServer will make the support easier, at least once I fixed the new configuration bugs...

I just ordered SageTV 7, so I'll still be able to run the latest versions. I sent you guys an email asking about changing phones before checking this thread.

I'm returning my current phone and waiting for the new Atrix to come out in 3 weeks. That will give me some time to install newer version of Sage and get all the other mods installed

Thanks

Mmm... Atrix4G. Awesome phone, but too bad it's AT&T.

Are you sure you've got a way to turn on side-loading on the Atrix? I thought AT&T blocked loading of non-market apps...

Fonceur,

I just upgraded to the latest SageTCPServer and now my Android phone won't connect. My CQC drivers are connecting just fine however. So it seems to be working there, but not with the taSageTV.

Here is the applicable portion of the prop file:
Code:
sageTCPServer/client=
sageTCPServer/extender=00085c53c697.9100,001e40b5a05e.9101,00085c53c697.9260,001e40b5a05e.9261
sageTCPServer/server=9250,9750
The CQC Drivers use the 9100, 9101 and 9750 ports while the Android client uses the 9250, 9260 and 9261 ports. Neither the server nor the extenders are connecting on the Android client.
