Thanks

I got it all working now but for some reason I cannot edit server port via plugin so had to do it manually.

I just paid via paypal and emailed you my device id # looking foward for the key

I tried some streaming which is not bad at all but I am gonna do some tweaking to see if I can get sharper image over the wifi

Does Android Device ID change when you hard reset it?

I upgraded my Epic recently to Android 2.2.1 and did a hard reset to start fresh but noticed my Device ID is different and the licence seem will not work on it since it showing me only limited recording selection like in the demo mode.

I already emailed to them about it but just wondering if Device ID will change every time a hard reset is performed.

The device ID is seeded from a file initially provided (or not) by the manufacturer, so I wouldn't expect a hard reset to change it... Now on a firmware update that could possibly happen.

java.lang.InstantiationException:

I must have something wrong with my configuration, looking at the logfile it appears that the server won't start (I confirmed that I can't access the service using putty @9250). This is the line that has me concerned.

Sun 2/27 12:13:00.269 [SageTV@291aff] ERROR Loading startup runnable extension of:java.lang.InstantiationException: sagetcpserver.StartServers

Can someone provide me some tips on how best to troubleshoot this...

thanks

I have attached both the log and properties files

File Type: txt sagetv_0.txt (322.1 KB, 145 views)

The load at startup line was for the older versions of SageTCPServer, while SageTV doesn't like it, it's not really a problem...

I see no attempt at connecting in your log, so it sounds like you are not using the proper IP address in TaSageTV (ipconfig at a command prompt will give you the 192.168.x.y address for wifi), or there is an issue with either the firewall on the SageTV server or the port forwarding on the router...

Yup it was that blasted firewall, should have checked that... Working on getting streaming up and running. One questioned, it only seemed to connect with a local IP 192.168.0, not my public IP, it that a configuration problem on my end or is it a restriction on the app?

Technically it's a problem with the iOS streaming plugin, that I am trying to resolve with jreichen... In the next update, I've put a work around with the "Stream in Safari", it should be approved some time this week...

Had this app working in the old version and decided to upgrade to version 7. I did the plugin in v7 and here is what it put in sage properties:
sageTCPServer/client=127.0.0.1\:9260
sageTCPServer/debugOn=false
sageTCPServer/extender=0023a500042f.9261,001d6a5dbba2.9262
sageTCPServer/password=
sageTCPServer/server=9250

Does this look allright to start with?
Thanks
Wayne

Yup, might want to remove the "sagetcpserver.StartServers" from the following line, if not already done.

load_at_startup_runnable_classes=sagetcpserver.StartServers

It did not have that after =
Is it the same app on the droid for v7 as it was for the old sage v6? I cant make it connect and just thought I would check about the app. Also I was using the eval version before and it might have expired. I did purchase the app a little while ago. Does this matter also?
Thanks
Wayne

OK, so I guess this was a new installation, or the previous one never worked as it wasn't set up properly...

There is only one version of the app.

You could enable the logging and post your saget_0.txt file.

There is no expiration date, it simply doesn't have all the features before registration.

Sorry to bother you so much. I worked all week to get a new win 7 install and get sage 7 working on it and I forgot about my ip address and router settings. After I set my Ip address to my old one it came up right away and looks good.
Thanks again
Wayne

I noticed yesterday while trying to get my streaming to work that I was playing video on my server monitor. So a couple of questions. I believe I read some where on here you can assign the client or extender for this app to use. Is this the line I would change it to one of my extenders in? : sageTCPServer/client=127.0.0.1\:9260 or do I select a different port number used in this line: sageTCPServer/extender=0023a500042f.9261,001d6a5dbba2.9262,0023a5000626.9263,001d6a5dbb9f.9264
Also as for streaming I downloaded vl 1.0 and as I stated above it started playing on the server monitor. Is there a setting in vlc that I need to change?
Thanks
Wayne

If you want to stream, it is between the SageTV Server and the Android device, the SageTV Clients have nothing to do with it...

In the SageTCPServer configuration screen, you will notice about 10 parameters that controls it... You don't need to change anything in TaSageTV itself, as it's all handled in SageTCPServer. The only exception being the Streaming delay and profile, from the Settings.

Nothing has to be changed in VLC itself, the SageTCPServer parameters contains all the required options.

The thumbnails are provided through the Phoenix API, so looking at SageTV\SageTV\Logs\Phoenix.log might give a clue...

Double check jetty's port in SageTV and in TaSageTV... You could try installing the web server for mobile devices, and see if it works, which it probably won't...
