Feature Suggestion

I love this app great job on it. I just got my first Android phone but have been a SageTV user for many years. I would like to suggest a setting in the app that would give the option to disable the screen lock where I have to enter my pin code to access the phone/app when the screen goes blank. Thanks for reading my suggestion and maybe even implement it in the next release.

Would it be to disable it as long as the app is running, or do you have specific cases in mind, like say the remote screen or during a sync?

Xoom and Honeycomb

I tried it out on honeycomb and the stream option works, but no rew or ff. I tried installing mirage, but when I try to launch mirage, it says that it doesnt yet support this device. If you talk to the mirage author find out when he is going to support the Xoom on Honeycomb :-)

It was rather nice to watch Big Bang Theory on my tablet. Its definitely a workable option. The screen it certainly big enough to make it work.

I was getting several force close issues. Once I get my license code for it tonight I may be emailing support or posting here with questions. I had to re-read the docs to figure out how to get my code. I thought it would be auto-emailed, but I see what I have to do now

Thanks

Kent

Just post them here, as the email would get forwarded to me anyway.

Posterboy,
Would you be able to list your sageTCPServer lines out of your Sage.properties file? I cannot get my SageTV to stream to the xoom. I've read the forums and tried a bunch of different options.

If it helps here are the lines I've settled on, mac addresses changed though:
sageTCPServer/autoReboot=true
sageTCPServer/debugOn=true
sageTCPServer/extender=c0cb3872ffff.9260,889ffa6effff.9261
sageTCPServer/password=
sageTCPServer/server=9250
sageTCPServer/streamingRTSPType=mp4a-latm
sageTCPServer/streamingTranscodeOptions=vcodec\=h264,venc\=x264{no-cabac,level\=12,vbv-maxrate\=384,vbv-bufsize\=1000,keyint\=75,ref\=3,bframes\=0},width\=320,height\=180,acodec\=mp4a,ab\=64,vb\=384
sageTCPServer/streamingVLCOptions=-I dummy --no-sub-autodetect-file
sageTCPServer/streamingVLCPath=J\:/Program Files (x86)/VideoLAN/VLC/vlc.exe
sageTCPServer/streamingVLCPort=554
sageTCPServer/streamingVLCType=rtsp

Thanks - Ted

Make sure to update the Media Streaming plugin to 1.2.0.44 or newer, and use the Stream 2.3 or Stream 3.0 from TaSageTV 1.66...

Here is what I had in mind:
When using the App as a Remote
Setting 1 Turn Off Security Lock
Sub Setting Keep Screen Alive (only available when option 1 is selected) and maybe only when charging the battery.

I havent updated the app for some time and decided to do it a little while ago. I like the text color change, makes it easier to see the details. I have given up on the streaming part of it since it appears to be something with my machine that I cannot get figured out. But anyhow it keeps looking better and better. Thanks for this app.

I would suggest to update the Media streaming plugin, and to try the Mirage beta app whenever a version newer than 0.3.1 gets released...

Same issue...but here's more detail.

TaSageTV is 1.66, SageTV is 7.0.23 and Media Streaming plugin is now 1.2.0.44.
VLC is 1.0.5 and SageTCP Server 2.2.0.

HTTP Stream OS 3.0 immediately gives me a "force close"
HTTP Stream OS 2.3 asks me which browser to open and then closes the browser immediately.
Stream says "can't open rtsp://192.168.0.2:554/stream.sdp to play" on Xoom and the window on SageTV says "[0050a41c] dummy interface: VLC media player - version 1.0.5 Goldeneye - (c) 19

For the VLC streaming, try with version 1.0, or copy the VLC line from the sagetv_0.txt file to a vlc_stream.cmd or such, then execute it and see if there's more errors...

Hi Ted

Quite honestly I have not touched the settings. It doesn't work all the time, but occasionally it does

Code:
sageTCPServer/streamingTranscodeOptions=fps\=15,vcodec\=mp4v,vb\=512,scale\=1,width\=352,height\=240,acodec\=mp4a,ab\=192,channels\=2,samplerate\=44100,deinterlace,audio-sync
Hope that helps

Kent

Sounds like you have an old version of SageTCPServer, the current one is 2.2.0...

There is a new release of the Mirage beta, this one should stream with TaSageTV 1.66...

Try using another instance of VLC on that PC or another to see if it streams to it, if it doesn't, then of course it won't work on an Android device either... Though you might also want to try using the Mirage beta instead...

Version 1.67

- Fix: was not providing the jetty username/password for the new streaming.

It assumes that Jetty is using the default username/password, which allows streaming with Mirage beta 0.40.

Where can we change that? I never use a default user or pw in any app. Always roll my own.
