Does the DroidX have a Cortex or Neon processor? I noticed that Mirage Beta says it only supports these two processors.
Where did you find the processor info at? I have looked thru the about screen and did not see anything.

To check this app on my network. Do I simply turn on my wifi connection? And then the app will connect thru the wifi or do I need to do something different to setup the connection directly?
Thanks
Wayne

P.S. I am very new to this droid smart phone stuff, I like a lot of the apps, but still learning how and what things do.

Well, if it works, that would take a lot less time than setting up VLC...

You can just try to use Mirage by itself...

Well, you will need to use the local IP of your SageTV server, instead of using an external one through some dyns service or such... Which is why you can configure multiple servers... Have you checked the wiki?

I had a little time again tonight to try the mirage player. Here is my log file. All I get when I select the mirage stream is the spinning circle. Would you look at the log and see if you see anything. I also am using 192.168.xxx.xxx:8080 in the mirage servers as this seams like the only port that will go thru
Thanks
Wayne

I am not seeing anything related to the streaming. You might need to enable the debugging in the jetty or media streaming plugin. It might also help to get a log on the Android device.

I have the jetty web server set to debug. I do not see anything in the jetty log, but thought I read some where that is puts it in the sage log. So here is my sage log and my droid log.
Thanks

Based on your Droid's log, port 8080 is not forwarded, or it is blocked by your ISP, which is why you can't stream or get images over 3G...

It is starting to look prommising
I had mistyped that port number 8800 instead of 8080 in the router. I now have icons with the recorded shows that I did not have before. I can stream over my wireless on the stream sometimes and I can stream 20 to 40 seconds over 3g and then it locks up. Once in a while it will stream ok over the wireless connection, seams erractic. One thing I have noticed is that TaSageTV icon has changed to a tv with a gear in the lower right corner. I am thinking before it was a box with 4 small squares inside of it. Does this mean anything?

Update It looks like mediacom is having trouble. Let me check this tommorrow and see if it is any better
Thanks
Wayne

Which streaming option was that? If it's for Mirage, then you will probably need to take it up with the Mirage beta and/or iOS streaming author(s) to see improvements...

No idea why it would do that, the packaged icon is something like:

Streaming for 30 seconds or so is the behaviour I get if the data rate is higher than the connection can handle. Try lowering the settings.

Where do I change the stream rate? because for me the only one of the 3 options for streaming that will work is the one labeled mirage stream. When I try the other 2 I get the spinning circle and then it says could not start movie.
Also forgot changing streaming profile under settings makes no difference. Is that where you are talking about changing the data rate?
Thanks
Wayne

For Mirage, it is using the full variable bit rate playlist, so there is no concept of changing the profile... The profiles are only used for the VLC streaming.

What is the server for Mirage streaming then? Does it call on vlc or something else?

It looks like mirage will not work possibly due to data rates. It starts off good but goes choppy and unwatchable. So I am going to try vlc again. I have reloaded vlc 1.0.0 on the server machine. I have looked at both of these logs, But not sure what I should be seeing. I cleared both logs before trying the tasagetv app on the droid.
Thanks Again
Wayne

Mirage uses the HTTP live streaming from the Media streaming plugin. Which is also what the streaming 2.3 and 3.0 are supposed to try to do, but without much luck apparently.

Regarding the Mirage streaming, a possible test suggested by jreichen would be: "You might try removing the security handler from jetty/contexts/mediastreaming.xml or setting authenticate to false in that section."

I'll give that a shot tomorrow, I'm experiencing the same, it starts great but then deteriorates rapidly. I did manage to park myself in a good 3g service spot last night and play, my default setting was the most watchable with great picture but a bit of a problem with audio synch. This is very close to being really good.

I went in and set it to false and for me it looks like I can select different streaming options for mirage now and I can play the low res stream ok other than the picture looks bad. The other streams start good and then start getting choppy. What kind of upload speed does it take to stream? I just done a bench mark test at .95 mbps upload speed. Is that enough to stream at the higher data rates?
Just done a download test on my droid on a 3g connection at 2169 kbps.
Thanks
Wayne

0.4.1 Does not work on my phone at all. I can stream the couple of test server streams they have. But tasagetv will not do anything. All I get is couldn't start movie on any stream I try. I cannot find a 0.4.0 copy anywhere to reload. Every site seams to be at 0.4.1 now
