Send a message via ICQ to valnar
I have a Droid and I'm dying to buy this, but since Sage is presumably working on version 7.0, will this continue to work?

The assumption is that it's for people outside their home, so wasn't planning on having multiple databases...

Any chance of a slightly smaller notification icon ? All other seem to have a few pixels of space around them.
Sure, I just used the size I was already using elsewhere. Without a real device and much exposure to other Android applications, it's the kind of thing hard to pick up...

I already have some CQC and MainLobby drivers working with the same communication layer, so won't have much choice but to support it anyway...

Can't you get Google to send you one ? I thought they handed them out to developers ?

The developers' phones are like $400, which most likely won't be covered by my Android application sales this year...

OTOH, once the new Android tablets become available, I could see myself getting one of those... Especially the Notion Ink Adam...

bah ! thats a shame.. what about a used G1 on ebay ?

I've not seen that notion ink adam before, it looks very promising (assuming they deliver) I like the fact that it does epaper too and can be manipulated from the back without touching the screen...

Version 0.74

- Fix: Client's selection was not always saved between sessions.
- Reduced the size of the notification icon.
- Can now define multiple servers (i.e. local vs remote access).
- Added a password field (for future use).

I tested the remote access. Works well, I port forwarded 9250 and connected remotely and could view recordings, schedule etc as well as the media center stuff.

See attached screenshot, the notification icon looks as it was before

Thanks

I went from a 44x44 to a 24x24 icon, but I guess there's some rescaling going on... I'll try a 16x16.

I think it will always scale it to fit. You'll have to add a border of transparent pixels to get it to be smaller.

That's what I was afraid of... With luck, there might be some tweaking allowed.

Version 0.75

- Fix: the Server settings layout looked a bit messy...
- Replaced the notification icon by a more compliant one.

you should be able to just edit the image.. if you've not got a editor that can work with tranparent images, send the pic my way, and I'll add the tranparent border to it. Shouldn't be that difficult.

I had some icon editor handy, so I shrunk the original 64x64 to 21x21 and copied it in a 25x25 canvas. Converted to grey scale, and that's what I put in .75.

cool.. hadn't checked it out til just now.. much nicer, thouse the greyscale is a bit washed.. perhaps up the contrast a bit, drop the brightness, and it'll look just like any other decent apps notification icon...

still.. seems silly worrying about icons, but it's the little things, y'know?

I was looking at the 1.0 icon design and they were saying 25x25, but for 2.0 they mention 48x48 for the high resolution screen, so that's probably not helping.

http://developer.android.com/intl/de...on_design.html

I don't really plan on creating the low/medium/high resolution icons that they suggest, but if someone else wants to...

Icon looks the right size to me now, but its grey not green - was that intentional ? I quite like it in green (and would really it to turn the red when it loses contact with the server)

Edit: Just noticed you said you'd changed it to grey. bit early here !

Thanks

I've had a thought on how to manage the remote/local server setup. Examine the SSID of the wireless network we're attached to. If its my home one, then use the private 192.168 address else use the DNS name. It would be nice to be able to seamlessly switch between them (Yes, I know you only implemented it yesterday )

cheers

If you have a DD-WRT compatible router, just add your Sage boxes to your "Additional DnsMASQ Options" : address=/your.sagetv.domain/192.168.###.###

Yes, since I had not read the icon design recommendation before...

Interesting, so someone can simply use the outside address of your.sagetv.domain and if he is within his LAN that will never go out, right?
