Media Center page limits items to 10 each

Fonceur,

Nice app! But I'm having an issue with the media center page. Albums, songs, photos, etc are all limited to listing only 10 items. For example, the Albums icon lists (10/100), and Photos lists (10/4405).
When I open each of them, I only get 10 items. I've tried swiping every which way and there isn't anything in settings that I could find that limits the list. Am I missing something simple?

Using Samsung Galaxy S II

As said on the wiki, you need a registration key to unlock the 10 items limit... You are in the trial mode. If you did enter the registration, then just force a TaSageTV database wipe from the Information/Settings screen.

Yup, my bad...just saw that on the wiki. Thanks for the quick reply just the same. I'll give this a bit more of a workout and see if it meets my needs.

I thought the registration was part of my problem, But after putting in the number I don't think it is. I have dish network and OTA channels. My problem is that when I goto the guide all of my OTA channels are there and I can select them to record, But when I try to bring up the dishnetwork channels it gives me the error: The application TaSageTV(process.android.sagetv) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again and has a force close in the bottom.
Any Idea's
Thanks
Wayne

Actually, the "All channels" is your first lineup, the "OTA channels" is your second lineup and the "Dishnetwork channels" will crash... I seem to be off by one somewhere...

Version 2.48

- Fix: Program guide was broken for multiple lineups.

Unhappy Quick close

I haven't used this app in a few weeks--been really busy.
I tried starting several times today, and it immediately wants to Force Close even though I can see the interface working in the background.
The icon stays in the notification bar after closing.

Any ideas?

Here's the log.

EDIT:
log is now attached. I also updated to the latest version and tried again.

Hmm, it's crashing when trying to clean the old images from the cache directory... For now I'll just wrap it in a try/catch clause, so it shouldn't crash on launch, though maybe it can't access the SD card or something, which would likely crash in other parts...

Update fixed my broken program guide.....thanks. I still have one issue outstanding, the stream button got broken at some point. I used to be able to start a vlc stream with my default settings in my default player, which was my best compromise for 3g, this stopped working some time ago. There is no other way to start a default stream, without using mirage? Mirage 150 or 250 is good, but is much more sensitive to connection variations.

It did, and I also used it to test Vitamio, but it should be back to its previous working state... Are you sure VLC didn't get updated with a version that creates issues with the Android video player?

The generic Mirage option is supposed to use the variable bit rate streaming...

Same version, never been updated. It doesn't even try to start the stream, the button does nothing at all.

I realise that, but it stutters heavily, and works better with the lower fixed bit rate options. Still not as good as the original vlc option.

Actually, it's even worse than that, none of the buttons were doing what they were supposed to do for the Album/Recording/Song/Video... The recording events were sent instead...

Version 2.50

- Fix: Buttons on detailed view with images were broken.

You might want to double check your list of Favorites/Manual recordings for odd ones that might have been created due to the bug...

Doesn't that make you wonder if I am the only person actually using it? I confess I don't use the music side of things as I have a large library on the local machine, but the streaming of recordings is handy and I use it regularly.
We are now invoking the default player at least, but it won't play, I will check things over on the server but nothing has changed so it shouldn't be any different.

edit, scratch that, working fine, I was using the external server name on the wifi which doesn't work. Switched to 3g and it's fine. Thanks fella!

Well, since it's not on The Market, people have to manually update after seeing a new version on the forum or the DropBox folder...

The app is now also available on the Android Market (and waiting on Amazon's appstore approval too), in case some people still can't sideload apps... Just be warned that the price there reflects Google/Amazon's 30% cut, compared to the direct sales...

I don't know if someone has already asked this, I couldn't find it in this thread. Would taSageTV run on GoogleTV 2.0 (now that GoogleTV 2.0 support market place).

If so, and we can stream videos, it would could be used as an extender.

Thanks,
chiledog

The main reason for putting TaSageTV on the Android Market (and Amazon appstore) is indeed GoogleTV (and the Kindle Fire)... It hasn't actually been tested yet on GoogleTV, so I guess someone should first try the free SageTVRemote (even though it may seem a bit silly), just to see. I did add the one line which should make it available on the Market for that device. Of course if GoogleTV 2.0 accepts side-loading of apps, then the version available through the wiki should work too.

In principle yes, but streaming on Android in general has always been "hit and miss", as it depends on the hardware/software. Unlike iOS where the HTTP Live Streaming is a standard feature which works. Google do claim better HLS support, but they've been saying that for a while too...
