Actually, I've determined that I can run ShowAnalzyerEngine.exe directly but I need to find out the proper command-line switches and such so that I can specify which profile to use on each recording through SJQ.

When i need to see how something is being run, I break out a program that, when run, simply prints the parameters it was run with. I rename it to the name of the program i want to spy on and that's it, i've got the info i need (unless the software uses crazy other methods of sending parameters, i think ms word is a huge culprit)

Simple, you write it.

similarly trivial in the visuals (then you can have a pretty message box)...

Here's an update zip file that includes a fix for SageMC as well.

Download moved to here.

How are you executing mediainfo if you just have SA roving for files to process?

Gee, you say that so definitively... Like you're beta testing v7 or something..

Fuzzy, I just want to make sure I'm following this thread and the work you've done. If I'm using SageMC, I need to import your STVi into my latest version of SageMC. This will give me more accurate comskip performance. Yes?

Thanks for your work on this.

Read from the beginning -- you also need to run mediainfo on every file before it gets played. This produces the actual timeline with which fuzzy's new code computes the actual edl positions.

Moving the plugin to it's own thread, to alleviate further confusion.. It's also now in the SageTV downloads section...

Discuss here.

I use SJQ. I have it set to run mediainfo after the file is done recording.

Question: Does pre/post padding of the recordings impact the changes that you have made? Some shows my wife likes to pad to ensure she doesn't miss the beginning reviews or next weeks previews

No, it won't impact things at all. It will just make the commercial blocks more accurate.

BTW, since I originally posted this I've switched to SageTV 7 which has the ability to disable time scaling using a properties setting. Commercial skips are now dead on accurate with no other changes.
