software setup advice needed.

I am new to Sage and I need some advice as to how to set up my computers. I have a htpc running SnapStream already in the front room. It has a single pvr-250. I am building another computer/server that will be located in another room (hooked up to another tv). I ordered another pvr for this pc, so there will be one in each. I would like the capability to use the networked tuners for multiple show recording and be able to watch them from either tv.

I'm just not sure if I need an instance of SageTV on each computer, or if I just need SageTV on one and Recorder on the other. Any advice?

thanks

On one you need SageTV. This will give you recording and watching capabilities. On the other you need SageRecorder (encoding) and SageClient for watching. Technically you don't need SageClient and could just open adn watch the files in Windows, but SageClient will make it look and feel just like on the server and give you all the options it has.

see this is why SageTV needs peer to peer
I do not see a reason not tohave this available, he could just buy SAGETV for both computers and Frey would have more money

But what if you have spare computers you'll never watch on and don't need SageClient, and what if you have computers to watch stuff on but don't have a tuner? In these circumstances extra copies of SageTV would be redundant and overkill.
