'Now Playing' only shows recorded TV

Hi

I recently upgraded to Sage 7 but previously had the mobile web server running on v6. I installed 2.0 from the plugin manager and have noticed that the 'Now playing' section only reports recorded (or live) TV I'm sure it used to report imported videos too. Did something change ? Alternatively, can I clear our all the old config and re-install ? (In case something left over from v6 install is causing this)

Thanks

AFAIK the iOS media player controls the buffering and there's no way to modify it - at least not from a web app.

Not that I know of. I'll take a look when I get a chance. As you're probably aware there isn't support for music, videos, or pictures (yet?) so I don't test for those.

Thanks, Just to make it clear, I'm not looking to stream them. I'm just interested in the bit that shows what's playing on the extenders

Customize web ui

I am looking for any information on customizing the web ui remote control buttons page. I've searched and not found any reference to additional commands. I would like to change "TV" to "TV All Recordings" and "Guide" to "Video DVD/BD". Not just the Button text but the actual command.
Volume would be nice to add in also.

I love this app though!

Thanks for the feedback. I have though about customizing the remote so that the user could specify what buttons do exactly. I have talked briefly to jreichen about doing this, and I think it's doable but will be tricky.

Currently I am working on
Gesture remote
Swipe remote

I will put customization of buttons on my todo list.

No More SageTV Mobile Web Interface???

I had to redo my entire server a week ago. When trying to download the SageTV Mobile Web Interface I get an error. This has gone on since the server upgrade. Is there an alternative or fix?

Is the source code for the Mobile Web Interface available publicly anywhere? Existing links to Assembla are met with a 404.

I think all the wiki content on Assembla is lost, which is too bad. Maybe a fresh start will be a good thing?

The latest source for the Jetty, mobile streaming, and mobile web plugins are at https://github.com/jreicheneker/sagetvweb. I imported them all from SourceForge a few years ago but haven't done much with them since then.

Configure SageTV Web Interface Instuctions

Where can I find instructions on how to setup the SageTV Web Interface? Installing the Plug-in is fairly straight forward- find -click OK- reboot. There has to be some web server setup?
I'm running an out of box setup to keep the SO happy. Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, SageTV V7.1.9.256, Ceton InfiniYV4 tuner, a single use system feeding multiple TV via HD300's. I've used SageTV since V6 and want to add streaming. Am totally confused by the info out for using V9, but that's another thread

OK I read through the forums and have the interface working? Not as much to set up as I feared. Can see the SageTV server and access listings. Saved Shows and movies all show 0MB size, recorded TV shows startup Mediaplayer or VLC player but do nothing.
What am I missing? As for the DVD movies I get a cannot play inf files message, for MG4 or TS files no player installed. But their are players installed on system just not linked to the interface app. I can't be the first to have this problem, where do I go to find the answer?

I'm not quite sure I understand what your issue is, but I recall not being able to stream through the web app -- I would get a message 'vlc not installed' even when it was. I believe the issue was that the web app has a configuration parameter to tell where the vlc.exe file is located and this wasn't set up correctly.

I recall posting something about this, but sadly I can't find it now.

Not being a programmer/coder but willing to to learn, search and edit as necessary. What am I looking for? when I click use VLC Media Player I assume I'm calling for VideoLAN.VLCPlugin.1 But I do not find this variable or file any where other than the Get statement. Does the VLC player app get installed on the client or the Sage Server? Is there a VLC plugin for Sage that I've missed?

This is going from memory from several years ago but I am pretty sure that you have to install the VLC application on your PC and then somehow tell Sage what folder it is in. Then when you try to play a file it starts VLC and has it "broadcast" the video file. There are other plugins that use VLC in a similar fashion including one that lets you access web streams, like web TV channels or even your own IP cameras, in Sage.

However VLC can sometimes change from version to version so you may need a specific version of VLC.

Personally I have always found this streaming part of VLC to be rather buggy.

What version of Java are you running? You need to stick with Java 7 for the Jetty stuff.

Any chance this will be getting updated / overhauled / replaced? It still works fine, but it would be great if:
1. it were updated to work with newer versions of Java
2. The add favorite listed the channels the show was airing on so you could easily select them, and inhereited your favorite settings automatically
3. it had a premiering section to help you discover shows you might want to record.

2 and 3 are items that ceton my Media Center has that I will miss. it looks like jreichen may no longer frequent here?

I can say that, as is, the V7 Web UI and Mobile Web UI will not likely get many updates (unless someone decides to take them on as a maintenance project).

I have started a V9 web ui project, which is likely to start out small, but hopefully be a single web UI for both desktop and mobile. This new version will require Java 8. But it'll be probably be August timeframe before I have something that I'd be sharing.
