Exclamation v7 Firewire recording

Just an FYI for anyone having issues with Firewire recording after the v7 upgrade:

Seems that v7 no longer includes TSsplitter 1.0 (or at least the TSsplitter.ax file doesn't register as 1.0). So it will break your graph. When you go in and rebuild the graph, TSsplitter1.0 is no longer available, and Tssplitter3.0 apparently does not work, so I had to rename the TSsplitter.ax file from my backup of v6 (you did backup right?), and register it so I could use it in my graph again. After that it worked fine.

I'm attaching the graph again for reference.

Narflex, any idea why TSsplitter3.0 won't work? And I see that TSsplitter.ax is still in the 'Common' directory, only larger, and yet it does not register as TSsplitter1.0. Is is simply a different name?

Thanks for the heads up. That would have caught me off-guard. I have the same graph as you. Not everyone does. You don't necessarily need the TSSplitter filter in there, but it helped me with playback issues tremendously.

Can you you be a little more specific with what you had to do? Does it matter what name you choose for the old TSSplitter.ax file when you copy it back? What do you have to do to re-register it?

I just renamed it to TSSplitter1.0.ax and ran a bat file with "regsvr32 TSSplitter1.0.ax" in it (or you can run it in a cmd window).

I still haven't upgraded to v7. Does anyone know if this workaround is still needed?

In case there are any other firewire recording users out there, I just installed v7 and I just confirmed this workaround is still needed. So, don't lose your old TSSplitter.ax files!

I'm using v1.0 of tssplitter in my graph but it seems to be dropping video on some programs. There is audio, just no video. I can verify this by going to Detailed Info and under format: shows MPEG2-PS[Dolby Digital/192Kbps@48kHz Stareo].

SageTV 7 latest. Playing on HD100 extender. WinXP SP3.

Any ideas?
