FYI: Yellow button is "Options" on 34 button remote...

Just installed V7 and one thing I had trouble with was getting to the "Options" that is located in the lower right hand corner next to the SageTV icon.

I have always just used the Hauppauge 34 button remote (never got around to setting up the Harmony 880. LOL) for SageTV. I had never used the yellow unlabeled button on this remote before but after installing V7 and having to go get my mouse, to click "options" I figured there must be an easier/better way. After a little clicking, the yellow button on this remote brings up the Options menu for those who might have had the same initial problem as myself

Thanks Brent94Z. This really helped, and I couldn't find that information anywhere! This also works with the 45 button model.

FWIW. The other colored buttons functions are:

Red: Sets show as Don't Like.
Green: Sets show as Favorite.
Yellow: Brings up Options menu.
Blue: Sets show as Watched.

I hope this helps other users.

The layouts aren't hidden -- there are pictures showing the Hauppauge remote layouts in Appendix E of the SageTV PDF manual.

The layout for the SageTV remote that comes with the SageTV extenders is shown in the extender manual.

true, not hidden.. but not intuitive, either... Perhaps it would be worth it to put a little yellow circle next to the Options 'button' in the STV? To be honest, I still can never figure out which of those stupid colored buttons I need when I am messing with the MVP in the bedroom, and i've had the ting for MANY years.

Sigh....feeling a bit dopey now. Funny thing is, I research the xxxx out of everything I do. LOL

Thanks Opus4

@Fuzzy: I use this remote all the time as I prefer it's "soft" buttons over my Harmony 520's clicky ones, but I've never touched those colored buttons. What causes this "don't know, don't touch" way of living? From now on I'm gonna push every danged button I come across in life! Heh.

Yeah, a couple of weeks after posting this I did run across it in the manual. But, as a long time Sage user who had NEVER had a need to use these buttons before, it didn't occur to me to look at the V6 manual for something that I had just run across in V7.

Anyway, glad the post helped ya out Pinan
