... AND RELEASED ON MY BIRTHDAY, NO LESS!!!!

(too bad I'm not really in the market for one right now)

Dang, I was taking "what do you want for your birthday?" questions from relatives as late as yesterday... why couldn't this have come out THEN?

I would assume this IR port would accept a male-to-male connector so you could plug directly in with an output from one of the URC base station controllers though, right? That would be a nice perk to plug in directly and not have to worry about lining up IR lights.

Also, do the USB ports remain powered on when the HD300 is in standby like the HD200 does? It would be nice to steal power off the port to run the PS3 IR to BT fob.

I used the "easier to ask forgiveness than permission" stance this morning. Luckily she loves Sage and got over it quickly!

Yes/No? I'm concerned "downmix" means "downmix to 2ch and only output over the RCA output jacks on the HD300.
It works over hdmi optical or RCA in my testing and I haven't had any issue with it.

As it turns out, your order and mine were very close; and we're about 50 behind bcjenkins who, so far, has posted the earliest order number on this thread. The first post to announce the HD300's arrival (at least, the 1st post that I could find) was sharky905 at 10:52 EDT, which is 41 minutes before bcjenkins placed an order and about 2 1/2 hours before we placed our orders. If all of my assumptions hold true, we are somewhere around the 60th order. Now, if we can just trust PLUCKYHD, all will be good. The problem with trusting him with something as important as this is: HE ALREADY HAS ONE. How many do you suppose Sage receives in each batch?

I'm a little underwhelmed......
1) Size. Sure it's smaller, but no one was complaining about the HD200 being too big
2) Faster - Ok, It's going to make menus faster for me? I'm honestly nto sure what this translates to for the SageTV experience.
3) Bitstreaming HD Audio - FINALLY, something to talk about .
4) Lower Price - this is awesome, but I have 3 HD200s and a PCH A-110 for #3 above. So it won't really effect me.

Nothing else? No Netflix or Hulu or MLB.tv integration? I don't like using PlayON and would love much higher resolution. As it stands, if I need another extender, I'll get one happily, but I won't be replacing the HD200s just yet.

Awesome work Sage......I love your products....

I don't know what you are talking about. I have no doubt they will fill the orders. I just wanted to see if anyone beat me to the punch.

3. One of the best features
4. More than awesome I still can't believe they are selling it cheaper

This is one of the many things that sells me on Sage -- they could easily have charged more and I would have paid it. In this world where we get taken advantage of so frequently, I do believe Sage is customer-oriented.

The HD audio support got me to buy an additional extender for the basement. The DTS decode and (hopefully) native Netflix support will get me to buy an additional two to replace the HD100 & HD200 elsewhere in the house. Play On and Clown BD are usable hassles to get all the content to the other extenders, but if I could do away with both of those hassles, it would be worth upgrading those TVs.
