STVi: Restart Sage from Setup Menu

I have just uploaded a small STVi that adds a restart option (with confirmation dialog) under the Setup menu.

(This is pretty self-explanitory, this thread is only here in case people have comments or suggestions.)

Tried to install this other day for v9, it's giving me a repository error and can't install.

Apologies, apparently I wasn't subscribed to this thread. I am now.

This is currently hosted at sourceforge. I've been moving stuff away from there because people keep reporting problems. I'll move this away as well. I'll update when it's moved.

Update is there and installed fine for me in SageTV v9. If anyone is still using it on v7, let me know you have any issues installing.

I missed this thread, uh... 7 years ago... Does this completely restart Sage, including sageservice, meaning if the memory use were getting high, you could do a reset? Does it work on an extender without causing reconnection-after-reboot issues?

I could use this on occasion... Wish I'd seen it way back when!

I wish there was an option to allow you to choose between restarting just the SageTV service, and restarting the entire server...

Yes, it restarts the sage service when running from an extender. I've never had any reconnection issues with it. It's using the sage API to do the restart, so it'll be the same as the restart after some plugin installations.

I ran it on both of my V7 and now my V9 setups just fine. Not using ADM, just the stock STV with this plugin.

The restart SageTV option should be at home page with the menu down the left side/options right at the bottom.

There's a fair chance that a menu editor would conflict with this. All this does is add a submenu to an existing menu. If that existing menu weren't there, or something like that, this new submenu would never show up.

If I could get ADM to make this, it would work

Have you tried copy mode in ADM to copy the menu item to the ADM custom menu?

k

Yep, turning ADM off brings it back. Thanks!
