come on, now..
how can a cute, little, fuzzy kitty be scary?
they'd never run out from under the bed and pounce you in the middle of the night or anything.. nope, not a little kitty cat.

They can be a bit.. unpredictable.. but then again - the sound of a cat purring may be the greatest relaxing sound ever heard. Puts you right to sleep (right where they want you)

Meet Claude, the attack cat. We had cat sitters come to our house whenever we went on vacation & they would feed the cats, bring in the mail, etc. One of our cats was fine with this, but not Claude. When we were gone, he went into protective mode, stalking & attacking the cat sitter when she stepped into our house, biting through 2 pairs of jeans that she wore because of him & drawing blood. We finally took him to a cat kennel instead & he was fine there -- happily playing with the woman at the kennnel.

Lazlo, my black cat isn't quite that bad, but he will hiss and swat at anyone who comes to the house if we're not there.

Ernie, on the other hand.. pretty much sprawls out and expects a belly rub.

Yeah, when you have more than one cat one always seems to be the protector and the other the kiss-up or runner. I think they are just dividing their efforts between different strategies. This way if the protector fails, the runner or kiss-up can wait for it's chance at revenge.

Right now I have all three mods of behavior. Our eldest girl, Squirrel(beautifull taby/calico mix) is a runner. Our youngest girl, Samantha(grey/black taby) is a kiss-up to all men. And our male, Spook(all black male) is the attacker. Sadly Satan(yellow taby) is no longer with us. Maybe he's been re-incarnated as Claude.

Meet Stanley, my first cat. Also have another called Daisy, but she's never around long enough to take a picture.

A thread this important simply can't afford to die. Since I'm the one who started it, I figured I should make my 2nd post and revive it.

After telling him of our little fetish on this board, an online comic book friend of mine pointed me to the ultimate cat avatar. I figured you all deserved to see this. Wonder if this is the infamous 2nd gun-kitty...? Enjoy!

I guess _somebody_ has to watch for those local dogs that prefer neighbors' yards as their place of doing business.

It reminds me of that Cats vs. Dogs movie, but a little more extreme!

Introducing: Marco and Melita (marco is sitting up):

Up until now, I have been feeling a bit of a cheat, as my previous avatar (Oscar and Rory) were actually my parents cats and live more than 500miles away!

A new service for cats only

Speaking of cats... our cats-only kennel & grooming service just sent out a notice of a new offering -- see the attached photo; it pretty much speaks for itself.

All right. I figured it was time to join the Avatar Group. (Seeing that the forum was upgraded-great job.) That's Louie, our pet Pug. Louie's 4 months old and wants everyone to know he's glad to be here.
