Publishing Placeshifter Protocols?

Jeff, I'm thinking this is directed more at you than anyone else, but I'm curious if any thought has been put into publishing the placeshifter protocol. Since licensing is server side, it would open up far more potential for mobile device development. The ability to use the SageTV UI, and the already built-in dynamic transcoder would be a VERY nice capability.

anything? Seems it would solve a lot of problems.. especially since the sage transcoding engine seems to handle the interlaced HD-PVR files now.
