I just ordered HD300 - SageTV 6.6 to 7?

I just ordered a pair of HD300's. It looks like SageTV 6.6 is what comes with them, is that right?

I'm new here, but I keep hearing about SageTV 7. Is it in beta? Will I get a free upgrade?

EDIT: Never mind, answered my own question:

NOTE: Any Version 6 licenses (full version or upgrade) purchased now will also function with Version 7 of SageTV that is currently in beta testing. Version 7 upgrade keys can be purchased here. More information on V7 is available in the SageTV Forums

On a related note:

Hey, Sage, offer me an HD300 + 6-to-7 upgrade bundle for a modest discount and I jump on your pre-order list.

The "new" bundle deal is essentially $50 ($30 off) for STV. How about an upgrade bundle for $175 (same discount, 37.5%, off the upgrade price)?

Did you order a bundle that comes with SageTV or just the HD300 itself?

If you purchased a bundle: then, yes, you answered your own question regarding the license.

If you did not purchase a bundle, then the HD300 doesn't come with any version of SageTV. It has its own interface when used by itself when not connected to a SageTV server. When connected to a server in extender mode, it uses the UI from the version of SageTV installed on the server.

Same here. I'm not sure why they don't offer a similar discount.

Does anyone know the actual reason?

Because they can still sell the upgrades at full price?

Probably because the "upgrade" is technically already a discount versus the "full" price.
