v7 metadata & moving recordings between boxes?

I haven't upgraded to V7 yet, but I've read that metadata is now put into the media files themselves for at least recordings. I think the intent was to make recovering from corrupt installations or corrupt Wiz.bin easier...

Would this metadata make it fairly easy to copy recordings between servers, and, once imported, have them show up with program information? What if the servers have different channel lineups? Would copying shows onto a USB drive, and copying them to a different sagetv server at a beach house that's on a different cable system work? Sounds a lot more attractive than placeshifter, with my crappy upload speed.

Thanks,

Drew
