WinTV-PVR-150 locks up SageTV

I've recently installed a Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-150 (PCI based). I downloaded and install the most recent drivers for the card. I've installed the latest version of the trial of SageTV (v6.6).

The video source feeding the WinTV-PVR-150 is the s-video output of my satellite receiver. When I run through the SageTV setup wizard and it correctly detects the WinTV card and asks me to configure the source. I select S-Video on the Hauppauge card and SageTV locks up completely (requiring a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and forced ending of the program through the task manager). Sometimes the preview frame loads before it freezes, sometimes there is audio, but I can never get past this screen.

I've used the card in another machine running BeyondTV with no problems. I've moved the card to a different PCI slot (the first slot used the same IRQ as the video card) so that shouldn't be the problem now. The computer is running WinXP pro with all the latest patches installed (as of yesterday). The video card is an ATI Raedeon X550.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Aside from this problem everything else about SageTV works great, but timeshifting live programming and recording is essential.

You didn't mention what other hardware you have... There is a known bug with the PVR-150 drivers that cause it to not work with 4GB or more memory installed in a PC running a 64-bit operating system. I don't remember the exact symptoms, but might be what you are seeing.

If this is your situation, you have 3 options: (1) get a different type of capture card, (2) change to a 32-bit version of Windows, (3) remove some RAM from your PC, so you are at 3GB or less.

If this isn't your situation, then I'm not sure what is going on.
