Sage6.6 + MC upgrading to SageTV V7
Hi,
I have SageTV 6.6 with SageMC installed. I want to bite the bullet and move to SageTV 7 today (installing sageMC later via the plugin manager). Is it best to just install over SageTV6.6 with V7... ...or should I remove SageMC first? and if so how to I remove SageMC cleanly? Hope someone can help. Michael |

Many thanks for all the replies
![]() I just went ahead and installed over the top of sageTV 6.6 + sageMC It seemed to just work. All in all SageTV 7.0.16 + sageMC + windows 7 seems to work fine. No ranting from the missus that I've changed the telly again and she doesn't know how to work it. The default sageTV7 on MVPs is terrible- even with animations off you can see it drawing. HD200s are fine SsageMC is consistently good everywhere. Michael |

Did you reInstalled SageMC using SageTV7 plugins after the V7 upgrade or did you just use the "old" SageMC stv after the v7 upgrade? thanks, Oren.

It seems to update the same files - and keep the olds ones with a .<number> extension. Michael |

Install over the existing v6 install and you keep everything and see all your recordings. Althought I would recommend a clean install because you can't use v6 plugins with v7. Just save your wiz.bin for all your recording info and favorites. Check the FAQ in the forum.
