Latest BMT (2.0.11) causing giant Wiz.bin?

Just upgraded to the 2.0.11 Phonix core and it looks like there may be a issue.

I first noticed my wiz.bin sitting at 30 mb, but I thought that could potentially be reasonable since I've been importing/deleting a lot of content via PlayOn in my testing lately. So just for fun I decided to back up wiz.bin, delete it, and start a fresh one and after a full Sage Import it ended up at 90 mb (!!!). Then I uninstalled Phoenix/BMT and ran the test again and only ended up at 6 mb.

FYI, I've got about 100 recordings and 4000 imported videos.

Nothing changed in this particular release related to metadata. This was actually a maintenance release because I had some some updates related to the dynamic menus.

I can see, if bmt is enabled, then it will cause the wiz.bin to get pretty large. It does store a lot of information in there. Does sagetv "resize" or compress the wiz.bin from time to time. I know when you are setting lots of metadata, especially for recordings, sage will internally create a new Airing each time... but my understanding is that sagetv will also do maintenence on that as well.

When you import via properties, it's probably alot more efficient than doing real time metadata, since the properties would be like a bulk edit.

My wiz.bin on my development server is 4.5mb and I only have 10 items in it.

My main server has about 1500 videos and tv shows... it's around 8.1mb... so I'm not sure what to make of the Wiz.bin sizes.

Ah the sweet smell of magic in the air... who doesn't love magic

I bet it's a result of sage running their "maintenance" tasks against the database on startup. I suspect that bmt does cause a lot of residual records when using SetMediaFileMetadata api call.

Most likely. I don't believe the remove empty entries until this maintenance is done. I'm not sure of the interval of the maintenance, but I have read reports of people having massively large wiz.bin's if they had for some reason set wizard/disable_maintenance=true.
