Reducing the huge text size in the GUI

Can the ridiculous huge text size be reduced so it doesn't command the whole screen when in any of the Main Menu sections? Same goes for the info banners while using LiveTV. The interface looks as it was written for a grade school level. I run 1920x1200 and text is usually too small with many apps, but here it looks as I'm running my desktop at 640x480.

BTW; I'm not referring to the Guide.

There's at least one setting in Detailed Setup related to font size, and there should also be some settings in the option menus for the experience.

Bear in mind that the menus are designed for use with a remote from across the room, and the fonts are sized appropriately for that.

If you're using it with a keyboard and mouse on a desktop, you have the option of running in windowed mode instead of full screen. Then you can size the menu UI as you like, and use Ctrl+Shift+F to toggle back into fullscreen mode for video playback.

There are around five settings and I did see those, but they don't affect all screens. Only the Main and part of the Setup Menus. Other text remains the same.

I understand that, but AFAIK, the fonts are still too large in full scren mode.

The whole interface needs a re-work as it is too childish looking especially that beyond annoying annimation effects (that you can't turn off untill you finish the initial setup).

If you're running SageTV v6 I highly recommend installing v7 (free upgrade for new purchasers of v6) instead even though the final release is not out yet. I found the v6 interface extremely clunky as well, v7 is an improvement in that and every other regard

Alternatively, if you want to stay with v6, install the SageMCE add-on, you may find that more to your liking.
