Dvblogic costs about 22euro, with discounts on owners of tbs cards and I think hauupage have to check their site. But there is 21 days trial to vet it out.

NIT is cool, assuming you get your region, not so cool if you are in an area where the region is not been scraped. I have been in that mess with dvb4sage.

If you use the dvblogic software to sellect your souce, and map it to be broadcast on the virtual card you have the ability to assign a channel number in the gui. (Don't use the subchannel column, as I ignore it in my export utility).

That channel number is the mapped directly to sagetv via the generated frq file, so the process is very painless and you get to pick and choose. For example I have sky1hd on ch 106 and not bother with the sd version.

Dvblogic has been good also with the transponder moves, and so far has followed automatically, so I have not needed to retune the channel. (Now that may just be luck, but I think its designed into to core, but I can check with oberon to see)

If you do have a view card, you can use a usb reader and some 3rd party software, more info on the dvblogic fourm. But I can tell you it works extremly well.

damian,

When used with SageTV can DVBLogic be set up with more than 4 video sources at a time and if so how and has it been tested?

For information I did post this on the DVBLogic forum but it has been there a few days and no reply as yet.

Thanks,

David

Hi,

Just to let everyone know that the windows version of oscam works.

I have it running fawlessly on Windows 7 64 bit using an Infinity USB Ultimate reader.

Whilst I can not confirm (as yet) that oscam will correctly update the viewing card entitlement others have reported that the updates work correctly.

The card latency is low enough that I can happy run four DVB-S2 tuner via DVBLogic.

In my experience over the last few weeks DVBLogic 3.2 + OSCAM (windows version) + ACAMD + SageTV 7 work brilliantly together and offer a stable and scalable solution.

David

I'm new to Sage and have followed your excellent guides but unfortunately I'm still missing a couple of steps that may or may not be related.

I have the BGT3595 installed on my WHS and can get the preview in VLC fine. The UPNP server doesn't appear to be operating? I don't run a firewall on my server.

The xmltv data shows up in Sage in the program guide, the tuners appear to install ok but I get No Signal when I try to get any channel, any ideas?

In DVBLogic server did you add the channels? There is two places where you need to edit channel numbers and that needs to be done also.

Question deep in dvbe4sage

thank you for the release.
before i run on the server, I have following configuration:

7x DVB-S2 cards connected to 2 different providers.
2x smart card readers with cards.

I have pretty stable system, i run 2 instance of dvbe4sage 1st with YES (NDS) provider no problem at all, 2nd with Platforma HD - because of weak signal issue dvbe4sage - crash like once a week.

questions:
1) Do I able to configure like 2 providers same way as dvbe4sage or DVBLogic will integrated them inside and show to SageTV as single recorder?

2) Do DVBLogic send EMM packages to local MD-API plugins to update card with OSCAM?

3)dvbe4sage support separation by MAC address for Technotrends and other cards, when you use USB cards, the order can be changed, when you insert something else into USB. How I resolve it with DVBLogic?

4) From the thread i did not understand about NIT support, this is very important for big providers.

Thank you in advance for the answers.

Let us know if the entitlements update. This sounds a much simpler solution than the dreambox route.

Set up DVBlogic on two separate computers for 8 tuners.

I take it that means using the network edition of DVBlogic on the other machine?

I maybe mistaken, because I see on the dvblogic forum where it was stated that four tuners is the limit.

Thanks for that, so is there any advantage with the Dreambox route over this soulution? This seems simpler to me.

Question

do possible to add feature "Tune on Idle" that will tune to specific channel just to receive cards entitlements?

Some providers send updates very frequently like every 2min, with very short expiration like 6-12hours.

Tune on Idle = channel : period, channel2 : period2...

Thanks for your efforts on this, using your guide i set up and have been using dvblogic as one virtual tuner on my three tuner dvbs2 setup for the last three days and it's been solid so far. Also set up Oscam on WHS and it works well, not sure about emm updates yet. Everything running on one WHS box now. My WAF factor is up !!!

Fantastic to hear,
Im getting ready to start on a new cycle of work with this, with the objective to get EPG simplified so to use the functions and features of DVBlogic for the hard work.
