New SATA hard drive - need advice
Just picked up a 1TB Sata hard drive on sale and I would like some advice on the best way to move my drives around.
Here's what I have now: 1. 300 GB (boot drive) old IDE drive that I want to remove == 70G boot/230G tv recordings 2. 750 GB Sata == movies 3. 1 TB Sata == movies 4. 500 GB external FreeAgent drive (USB) == movies, photos, music 5. The new 1 TB Sata I wanted to remove the 500 GB drive (4) from the external unit, ghost the boot onto that and then add the new drive as more space for movies and photos. It came with the capable Acronis drive cloner / imager software and I would use that to copy the 500 GB to the new 1 TB drive (5) first, then clone the boot drive (1) onto that (4). That would leave the FreeAgent container empty (no drive) for the time being. Is that the best way to go about that? Any suggestions?
