HD-300 with WHS and MyMovies- what else do I need?

I watched a demo video of the MyMovies plugin and the UI looks amazing. But then I read that I need a MCE pc for the saget TV extender to run... can I just run whatever software I need on the WHS server and use the extender directly from it?

I think this is the better place to ask this question. I just saw the video fo the interface, and I think this is the first time I have seen anything that comes as close to the Kaliedescape UI as this. But- do I need the SagetTV software to be running on a MCE machine or can I install it on WHS, or do I need to do anything like that?

Yes you can, with one caveat. You have to have a PC somewhere (MCE not necessary) where you can run the Windows only software of Collection manager, to maintain your collection.

You cannot run this on the WHS, as it will conflict with the server install.

WOW! So this thing kills the Dune player, right? I mean, am I missing something significant here? It seems like a dream with that MyMovies plugin...

No you can run the whs mymovies addin

I suggest having another computer with the mymovies client installed so you can manage the collection and set import directories and such.

OK... i guess I still can't believe it took me so long to catch this software... This thing kills the Dune players in the interface department based on the videos I have seen... very cool.

Keep on mind those videos are of a pc running it the extender will not be as fast. Make sure you set te extender settings for all your views as well.

My wife saw the new SMM themes with the Diamond theme, the genre customizations, and the better UI graphics tonight for the first time. She was in love iansilv, I sold my Dune Smart and kept my Sage 300 Dunes are very, very good media players. But what Plucky and the rest have done with Sage and interface customizations are simply wonderful.
